FYI recoil reduction
I have a 375 H&H magnum barrel for my Encore. Recoil with factory ammo in that light of a rifle was.... shall I say, "noticeable".
I asked a friend of mine, Mrbruce on this forum, to suggest something, a pad or buffer (or new shoulders). He recommended a Harrells muzzle brake. I took the barrel to him on a business trip and just got it back. The work was flawless; except for the color difference I can't tell where the blued barrel ends and Matte finish SS muzzle brake begins! It looks awesome. [:D]
I took the same factory ammo out and held on for some more "noticeable". Well; I was utterly amazed at the difference. The recoil with the factory rounds is less than a 150 grain bullet in a 30-06. Accuracy is another matter. When recoil gets your attention it is very hard to squeeze the trigger until it releases the sear. Now I can hold it on the bags with 1.5 inch groups at 100 yards! I am going to work up some cast bullet loads this evening. I am excited to see what this beast can do with 300 grains of Linotype. I also have some 285 grain Grand Slams that I will work up some loads for. This is going to be a fun filled summer.
If yo have a rifle that has recoil issues I recommend the few bucks to get a good quality brake installed. It makes a whole world of difference.

My lil brother had a 6 level fusion in his cervicle spine with attending ss plate and screws and was told he would never be able to shoot his 7MM again.
He sent it to me and I had my gunsmith do the same as you and in addition put an inexpensive mercury reducer in the stock.
It has less recoil now than my 243 and I am not exxagerating.
If you need some more it is very inexpensive and quite effective to put one in.
He has taken his deer and elk both again this year with his 7MM and is in heaven once more.

For those that have never seen a Harrell brake, I submit this photo of the one I got from him. Nice product, and IIRC only about $35. If the name sounds familiar, Mr. Harrell makes also one of the best powder measures.
