Or you could just not use the dispenser when loading for your .270. I have never been a fan of them myself(at least the Lee one that I used anyways).

Yea I guess you could call me impatient but I hate trickling every load out. I guees that is a part of reloading.

    peppersac,

I know it's a pain but loading using the scale is a must if you are going near the top. .8 gr. won't make a whole lot of difference if you have room to play with. But it will make a huge difference at max.

That said, I don't know how much H4350 you have but next time you buy it you may find it to be better. The newer extreme is a lot better for metering than the standard old H4350. I noted how spoiled I had gotten because I hadn't used any IMR4831 in a long long time....That stuff meters like rocks compared to the newer extremes and especially the sc's.

Also, I would suggest making sure I dispensed powder as consistently as I could. I get variations of as much as .5 when loading medium powders and .8 to 1.0 when loading slow powders with the thicker longer kernels. If you just want to throw powder from your dispenser I would go with a ball powder. But for accuracy loading there is no better way, I feel, than to dispense a single base powder to the scale and trickle it up to weight.

I guess that is what I am going to have to do. Thanks for all of the advice.

I use MagPro and Rx19 for my .300 WSM. Both meter pretty well, as long as I remember to replace the small diameter powder drop with the large diameter one.[B)]

MagPro gives me the best velocity and is consistant.

The "problem" with the WSM family of cartridges is that they perform best when "pushing the envelope". That means you have to fill the case pretty full.

If you still can't get it to meter, you can make a powder dipper with a .300 Win Mag case. Cut it off at the base of the shoulder and wrap a wire around it. This should get you close. You can trim to get closer.
