New all around powder
This subject comes up regularly but I have yet to see anyone mention H335 Powder.
Last summer my brother, son and I began loading several different calibers with this powder.
We are loading 222 Rem Mag, 223, 22-250, 204 and 257 Roberts.
Our accuracy for each of these rounds has been spot on and it also seems to be a very clean burning powder as well. (We are not loading for the speed of light and stay pretty much middle of the road for throat longevity)
Have any of you tried or been using this powder and what have been your findings accordingly.
We shoot a lot of this ammo every summer at prairie dogs and we wanted to try to find a powder if possible that would serve several different calibers to keep expenses down.
Appreciate any feedback you may have with your experience.

I only use Alliant or IMR powder.
I've recently bought some H1000 and H4350(cause I could not find IMR4350)
I'll have to have a look at H335.
But does having only one powder really save money? or is it just conveinent?
But wouldn't it be great if there really was just one powder that was PERFECT for every caliber?0 -

What is the surplus equivalent of H335? Not to steal the thread but I hope informative. I'm looking for bulk powder.... Too much time on my hands and reloading is a good way to expend energy.0 -
I like H335 in .30-30 Winchester and .35 Remington. In fact, my favorite .35 Rem load uses it with the RCBS 200-gr. flatnose gas-check bullet. On cloudy days I notice the muzzle flash.
In larger cases, where the charge is above 40 grains, the muzzle flash gets distracting. In the .30-06 and .35 Whelen it's noticeable even in sunlight. A friend of mine has a photo, taken in dim light, of himself shooting a .45-70 with a recommended H335 load. The orange eruption at the muzzle looks to be about 3 ft. in diameter.0 -
Sandwarrior. The USGI surplus powder is WCC844 and or WC844 I have seen it labeled both ways. It is a litle hard to find right now but I have shot close to 100lbs of it and it does great. Just an FYI Hodgdon BLC(2) does well for both 223 and 308 and its' surplus name is WCC846. They are offering more new manufature surplus powder now than pull down which is what I usually use. Check the back of the Shotgun News there are several companies selling in there. 0
