M-1A and M-1 Garand
Any loads out there?
I recall hearing about different bullet weights not being good for one or the other.
I have on hand 150 grain bullets and 4895, Varget, and 4350 powder available.

nononsense-you're a stud!!!
Thanks. Now-why didn't my search turn these up?0 -
codenamepaul,
I went 0 for 3 on my first attempts to find anything. I knew we had covered these a couple of times and had to simplify the search to just the model numbers and the term 'loads'.

Best.
I knew it had been covered as well. My search-fu must have been very weak yesterday.
Thanks again. Looks like 168's for the M-1A and 150's for the Garand is the way to go.0 -
Shot a pile of reloads through my M1 yesterday, I load 45 grains of IMR 4064 and a 150 gr FMJBT bullet (getting harder to find), and was pretty darn accurate at 200 yds. Never had a malfunction of any kind, brass came out fairly clean, recoil is slightly less than the lake city ammo I brought along to compare it with.
Have fun!!!!
