223 mil brass question
I'm sitting here reaming the crimp out of the primer pockets on some 223 mil brass [xx(] what a pain in the six [xx(]
Has anyone ever used one of those Dillon SUPER SWAGERs ? and if so how do they work . Anything has got to be better then doing it with a deburring tool [:o)]
This is the tool from Dillon that I'm referring to [8)]

I have one. It works great! I also have a RCBS swager that works well but if you are doing volume the Dillon is the way to go. I have used it on 223 and 308 brass and it is fast. Well worth the money. I do not like to ream brass as it is much easier to remove to much material causing the primer pockets to become loose. 0 -
Thanks for the info , I'll look around at a couple of gun shows for a used one , if I can't find any I'll just have to suck it up and buy a new one [B)] 0 -
I've used a friends Dillon. Works great, but I bought the RCBS. Works great also, a lot less expensive, but you need a single stage press. 0 -
I've been watching the auctions and used ones are going as high as new but may not be complete. I've decided to go the new route to make sure I get all the parts. With about 5000 crimped 5.56 cases waiting to get processed, I suppose it's time to get one. I tried the RCBS but #1 it's slow & #2 it's hard on my elbows. 0 -
We had about 5000 pieces to do, and chucked my primer pocket reamer in the drill press, ran it as slow as it would go. All we did was touch them lightly and went from there. We also tried a case mouth chamfer tool in the drill press, works too. 0 -

Had the RCBS; Didn't like it at all.
Spent the money on the Dillon Swage and never loked back. Have swaged many thousands of .223 and .308's...and there is just no comparing the two sysytems.0 -
No way to compare the price either...the RCBS system works fine. 0
