question on crimp for auto-pistols

i,m fairly new to reloading, is there a number associated with how tight to crimp ?? if so, where is this information obtained

  You need to taper crimp a modest amount. I would check at the mouth with calipers before and after you crimp.

  Ball park # is to make the mouth .004-.006 smaller than the body of the case (measure right at the case mouth and compare that to the body diameter about 1/4" below the mouth).

  Hello +1 on taper crimp if 45ACP look for .469 at case mouth + or -
