Anyone know of cheap plinking ammo for .45acp??
I currently have numerous .40cal pistols and numerous rifles to buy ammo for, but I am in the process of getting in the .45acp market. I have found ammo from atlanta arms for $250 per 1000 rounds. There has got to be some out there that is cheaper? I don't have the time for reloading. Please if anyone knows of anywhere let me know because I go through atleast 500 rounds each week so far, and now will be adding to it tramendously.

You say you don't have the time, but reloading really is the only way to go. I'll outline some costs just for reference and the benefit of other members, even if you don't have time to do it yourself.
For instance, just running a few numbers, if you use the cheapest jacketed bullets for a .45, for plinking, it would run you about $192/1000 (minus the initial set up cost of course). If you shot plated bullets, drop that to $152/1000, and if you shot lead cast, even less- especially if you cast your own.
As you can see savings quickly add up. You could quickly pay for a progressive reloading press that doesn't take much time to crank out hundreds of rounds.
That said, I've gotten good deals at www.wideners.com, www.aimsurplus.com, sportsman's guide, and cheaper than dirt. Unfortunately prices keep going up. [V]0 -
If you don't have the time to reload then buy reloadable brass and sell it back to your local gunshop or here on gunbroker to get back some of your money.
I shoot cast lead for all my pistols. Its cheap, accurate and easy to shoot for mom and the kids.0
