Inexpensive Bulk Target Ammo.
Anyone find any good places to get cheap bulk ammunition, but still being good ammo. I am always looking to find some for target practice ammo. Main sizes: .40, 9mm, .223, or .308 (Both .308 and 7.62x39).

I just received a Cabela's catalog that had some reasonable prices. Look close to home as the shipping eats up quite a chunk of the sale discounts. The more you buy, the cheaper shipping is per round. There seems to be a surplus of 40 s&w in some catalogs but 223 &7.62x39 has gone up exponentially over the past year. 0 -
Don't forget to keep an eye on the auctions. Buying in bulk saves all the way around. You can also try www.sportsmansguide.com, www.cheaperthandirt.com, and www.ammoman.com 0 -
Natchez runs sales on ammo. www.natchezss.com for thier mailing list. 0 -
also take a look at www.wideners.com . They usually have a far better price on stuff, but it isn't always available. And as far as cheaperthandirt goes, well lets just say their dirt must be about 50% gold or something. They totally lost me as a customer when their last monthly catalog came out and they were advertising Lake City Arsenal 5.56 ammo and saying it was so scarce they hadn't sold any for 15 years, but yet they keep advertising every month 20 and 30 round lots. Sounds to me like they are full of more poop than an eighteenth century outhouse. 0 -
I agree with you on CTD prices but once in a blue moon they have a good deal. I too get a kick out of their "scarce" LC ammo. They've had it in stock for well over a year. I do like wideners but it seems like thay are out of stuff more than they have it. 0 -
CTD used to be decent, now they are another big box joke. 0 -

It's funny that you mention them. They had a table at the gun show that I went to a couple of weeks ago. I got there at 10am on Saturday and all they had sitting on the table was the sign where the .223 ammo used to be. I asked the guy behind the table and he said the first guy that showed up at the table bought all 6 ammo cans that he brought with him!0 -
