Thanks for the reply buddy. Good input for sure. See my dilemma is this: I already feel like a competent shooter, or at least a decent shot and in time hopefully I'll be a great shot. I've only been sport shooting about a total of under 2 years now, and of that much more in the recent few months than in total. I started shooting trap b/c it seemed more fun, and for me easier. Just a few months ago I was "dragged" into the skeet world by some buddies, and now I love it, and even more recently I emmersed myself into the 5stand world and I now think skeet is boring. All this time I have been using my short 26" 20gauge, and done as I said decent for no training whatsoever. Long story short, part of me would love to have a 12 just for the occasional times I want that extra help (trap), but the other part of me feels that it's almost a sign of weakness going to the bigger guage when I am already doing probably just as good if not better w/ the 20. Do you know what I'm talking about? I probably should have started off w/ a 12 and moved down in guages. Honestly what I feel like doing now is buying a combo barreled gun (20/28) and seeing how I progress w/ the even smaller gauge. The basic fact is that I desperately have to find a new gun w/ a 30" barrel soon b/c my current gun is way too light and easy to lose control in my swing.
