Is it ok to shoot formerly belted M240 ammo in a bolt .308?

I would assume so as long as your chamber won't cause high pressures due to nato and saami differences. It should be just ball ammo with ball powder under it. Might want to ask some of the military guys though before proceeding or pull some rounds and drop powder charges back while working up to the original load and watch for pressure signs along the way. 0 -
Once upon a time, during my military service, I was part of an Army (airborne) weapons evaluation team. When we were running live fire tests, we'd easily go through 15-20,000 rounds of belted 7.62 a day (per aircraft) and our crews (those of us who shot, anyway) would split up any "leftovers" after repacking the ammunition boxes of our test aircraft. During that time, I shot, literally, hundreds of rounds of 7.62x51 M-80 FMJ through both a Remington 660 carbine and an M-1 Garand (with a mil-spec chamber adapter installed) without any apparent damage to either.
