mec reloaders
i want to start reloading 12,and 20, gauge shotgun shells , does mec make a loader that does both or do i have to buy two different press,. thanks ron .

The 500 will load both 12 gauge and 20 gauge. You just have to buy the other set of dies (kinda like metallic reloading). 0 -
You can actually change die sets on most MECs ... it is kinda a pain. You can buy two MEC single stage loaders for very reasonable price and the die issue goes away. Mount them on boards and mocve as needed weighte by a bag of shot. Look on EBay or any of the gun forums for used. 0 -
i added up the price for every thing , wads , powder, shot , primers ,per 1000 reloads , and it comes to the same if i buy two cases of esate shells, it's not even worth your time or trouble to reload , not when i get them for the same price for doing nothing. 0 -

the 500 hasn't been made in a long long time. No parts available from MEC.0 -

The big difference is one is quality ammo, and the other is promo-junk.
Now if you like promo-junk ammo, than buy promo-junk ammo. But if you prefer good ammo, than reload your own.
IOW look at the price of Winchester or Remington skeet/trap ammo when making the compairison.
Remember, there is a reason that promo-junk ammo is as cheap as it is0 -
well i've been shooting a case of estate 20 gauge shells every weekend now for a couple of months and have had no problems with them at shooting clays, .i no the rems, and winchesters are better but you can't beat the price of the estates , . 0
