Spray Case Lube

I'm wanting to try spray lube.

I know Hornady One Shot doesn't contaminate the powder or primers. Which others are safe? Is the RCBS brand safe to use?

  I use Lee case lube mixed with rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle.Will not contaminate powder or primers,woks great and is dirt cheap.

  Hadnt thought about that. How much alcohol would you use with a 2 0z tube of the Lee?

  I use the spray, much better than the tube stuff. I just put the brass in a tray and make sure to get all sides.[:)]

  I have used the spray stuff, and for the money, I think the regular lube on a pad is the way to go. Then again, I don't reload a whole lot for rifles and all my pistol dies are carbide.

  Buddyb has it! Use Lee case lube in rubbing alcohol--ratio is not important as long as it leaves a film when dry. I've made dozens of batches without any aprticular recipe. Try a 2-inch bead of lube with 2-3 oz of alcohol and it won't clog the sprayer yet leaves a nice film.

  I use the Lyman stuff. I bought a can of the Hornady One Shot and it dried so fast and didn't provide good lubrication for my .257 Ackley. I went right back out and bought a can of Lyman's spray lube again. I will try the Hornady again in the summer. Maybe it was just the cold that it didn't work well in. Speaking of summer I use the RCBS from a tube on a pad in the heat. It gels up too much here between August and May.

  Thanks for all of your replies. I already had some Lee so I mixed that with some alcohol in a hairspray bottle. It works great! Just got done with 100 .30-06 cases.

  One shot! Only way to go. I always tumble after the spray is applied. I want nothing but my power to burn. They say it dosent contaminate....but i guess ya never know. Id be safe and tumble after use..

  I don't like to load brass that has been sprayed with the Lee/alcohol mix without removing it either. Its not supposed to react with powder but who knows right? I tumble before spraying with the Lee/alcohol spray and then size/decap. Then, I rinse the cases in hot slightly soapy water rinsing several times until no foam can be created in the water. The brass comes out glistening like new. I don't like to tumble brass after decapping because the ground walnut I use realy has a tendency to get caught in the flash holes. Just another thought,

  That is true for some medias. I use the RCBS corncob. The grains are considerably smaller. Therefor they dont stick as much. But sometimes they do. Just a quick gentleman wiht my flash hold deburring tool and all is well. I might try the hot soapy water. Never heard of that though. Thanks
