7400 load info

Which powder will have best results in the 7400,lighter and heavier bullets.It will mainly be a deer gun.Dad swears by his old 742 and 7400 Just trying to make him a good handload.Thanks Vernon

  FYI: Watch what primers you use, 7400's appear to only like soft primers (e.g. Federal, Remington). I have replaced my hammer spring with no improvement and a friend buy a new one and it was only reliable with Remington & Winchester factory ammo.
