RCBS Rock Chucker
I just got a new RCBS Rock Chucker single-stage press.
In the (Speer) reloading book it says that the Rock Chucker has the ability to become a "somewhat" progressive press. What parts are nec. to make it "progressive", and are they worth the $$$ ?
Any insight is greatly appreciated [8)]

My advice don't do it You will always need a single station press and it is too hard to convert back and forth + it is not as good as say a dillon or the cream of the loaders a STAR. 0 -

Look at this one and see what you think[xx(]0 -
leave it a single stage
and save up for a DILLON you have the best of both worlds that way[:D]0 -
Thanks guys-
That is what I'm thinking too. I'm having way too much fun using the Rock Chucker the way it is--I wouldn't know how to act if I did more than one thing at a time anyway!

Just wait until you load a few thousand. I always enjoy reloading but the pile of loaded ammo gets so much bigger, so much faster when you start loading ammo on a progressive reloader, especially handgun ammo.
Also, when you get a couple of kids helping to shoot up all your ammo, you'll need to make more ammo in less time so you can do everything else you need to do when you have kids.
But I think you made the right move to reload on a single stage until you get the feel of everything. That is soooooo important...0 -
Look at this same post on Feb. 3. 0
