I don't have any loads...but the the 7.7 I would do a full lenghth since you proably just be "depositing lead" and not any target

I lucked into a chrome-lined-barrelled T-99 that I sporterized. (Don't hate me, the stock was chewed to bits by the previous owner's dog)

My pet load is 42 grains of H4895, using .312-diameter, 150-grain, Hornaday Interlocks.
I can't personally pull it off, but I watched the young lady who last shot this load through my Jap put three holes into an inch and a half.

I would respectfully disagree with 7.62 because, since your brass is already fire-formed, neck-sizing would cause less stress on the brass.
I've fired my brass (Norma) twice. Now I have to find a mandrel for my brass trimmer. It's gotten a little stretchy.

This T-99 has also been sporterized as well. barrel has been cut to 24+ inch. re-blued, the bolt assy been nickel plated (1979 project gun).
Gotta put up a pic. The smith did a nice job! It still lets ya know its a 7.7[:D]

    Sweet!
I've still got to do a bolt-job, drill and tap and I'm debating having the barrel cut. I mean, it's so accurate now that I'd hate to mess up barrel harmonics.
