Remington STS hulls

I just got back into shotshell reloading. I've always used Win. AA hulls, but their new hulls aren't as good as they used to be. I've heard that the Rem. STS hulls reload well. Do they use the the same primer and wad as the AA?

  They may or may not...just depends on the load. Best get the Lyman reloading manual for info. on load "recipes".

  I load Clays powder, Win 209 primers with a Claybuster wad and 1-1-1/8 oz of shot. Same setup as with the old AA shells. This loads just the same. I like the STS hulls they work great. I used to use tons of AA's but no more.

  I have used Win primers,Alliant Promo,and Claybuster 1 ounce wads in AA's and STS's.
  They all went bang for me.
  But is best to recheck the load manual when switching any component.
