loading data 40 cal
I've been loading 165 gr bullets using Clays powder.I picked up a box of 155 gr bullets <( Hornady HP/XTP ),but I can't find loading data using Clays powder.Do any of you have a Hornady reloading manual?Does it have a recipe for Clays and the 155 gr bullets? My Sierra manual jumps from 150 gr bullets to 165 gr bullets.

I checked the Hornady 5th Edition Manual.
They don't list any data for their 155gn and Clays Powder. They do list Universal Clays, which loads different.
I loaned the 6th edition (newest one) to friend along with my Hodgdon Manual, so don't have them for reference.
You might try the Hodgdon Website @ www.hodgdon.com, or the Hornady Website.

Victor...
Do you like that Clay's in your 40??? I have been toying with the idea of grabbing a bottle of a couple other powders. I use Bullseye, which is dirty, but it works just fine. Thought I'd do some research to see which is best.0 -

I really like the Clays powder.Like I said I can get three shot groups that touch each other. It doesn't seem to have a kick, like factory ammo does.Best of all I'll probably kick the bucket before I finish off this bottle of powder.5.2 grains of powder per shell.I've loaded 100 rounds and I still have an almost full bottle of powder. The flakes are a pain to get get down the funnel and into the shell.0 -
That's about the same charge as bullseye. 5.0gr for me. I haven't really had a problem with the flakes. The spherical powders, like H110, I don't like. They work their way out of my powder measure all over. 0 -

At ten yards, freehand, I can group 5rds within an inch and a half. I don't have a pistol rest. I could probably draw them in a little with one.0 -

I was very lucky the first time out with my reloads. I'm not going to brag about iot unless I can duplicate it three time in a row.0
