What is the maximum bullet weight that I could shoot through my .223 with a 1 in 9" twist

    Thanks

Probably in the 70 grain range. I doubt the 75 or 80 gr. would stabilize well but you never know. I shoot those in an eight gain twist and I'm not sure if that isn't minimun.

    Interesting...I am shooting a 1:9 twist 223 as well.

Hates 68 grain Hornady. Loves 69 gr HPBT's (less than 3/4" TEN shot group at 100 yards!!!).

At the range tonight, was spot on, at 200 yards, with Hornady 53 gr Match HP's.

There are exceptions due to things like velocity due to the length of the bbl., length of the particular bullets bearing suface, and sometimes a particular bbl. will shoot a different weight bullet better than another with the same twist, etc.
A pretty good rule of thumb for a 1-9" twist 223 is a maximum bullet weight of around 69 grs.
    Good Luck......................[^]
