Savage American Classic
Anyone have experience with the new S.A.C.?
Had a chance to look at one the other day and to my taste it was the best so far from Savage. Checkering was nicely done, wood was plain but attractive walnut with nice satin finish, high polish blue, nice drop mag. system, very smooth action and accu-trigger.
I assume it shoots as well as most 110's, but would love to hear a first hand report.
Thanks,

RCrosby,
Not sure what you mean by S.A.C. but, if you're talking about the 14 or 114 I have shot the .308 in the mod. 14. A guy I know at our range bought one this past winter and let me shoot a group with it. If I remember right the scope was a Burris 3x9 Fullfield II. 3/8" three shot group @ 100 yds. Every bit as good as the 110's, just nicer looking. I've touted Savage in the past as the best 'off the shelf' rifle out there and now they add looks to a great shooting line-up.0 -

About what I expected to hear, but you never know for sure. It sure was an impressive looking, and feeling, rifle.
