45-70 load for a kid
Hello all,
I have a 16" contender carbine bbl with muzzle tamer that puts it at around 17 1/2". The length of pull and the weight make me think it would be great for my daughter to use when she turns 12 for PA whitetail. I don't find the recoil bad, but I also sight-in my 300 winmag at the same time. I love the idea of a single shot for my kid, but can I load for the recoil similar to my 336 Marlin?
Thanx,
Earl[?]

Any load for original Trapdoors. Most all Manuals have them. Basically...anything pushing your bullet weight from 1,000 to 1300 fps. 0 -
are you saying that your .300 win-mag has more recoil than the 45-70 does?...my father has a marlin lever action 45-70 but he has some hot loads for it...i havent shot it in a long time so i dont remember what kind of recoil it has 0 -
You might just get her a nice 243 Win. single shot, just a thought. 0 -
with blackpowder or equiv. it has minimal recoil 0
