To glass bed or not?
Debating on whether or not to glass bed my Savage model 12, bull barrel, single shot, with synthetic stock.
Accuracy is good/great...no problems there. The recoil lug is only supported at the rear face of the lug. Synthetic stock is completely open in front of the lug (lug is just like a Rem 700).
Thoughts?

I am a great advocate of glas-bedding as it usually is a big help with the poorly fitted mass produced factory rifles.
However since you say that accuracy is great already you can remember " if it aint broke dont fix it".
glas -bedding shouldnt hurt it but why take the trouble if it shoots fine.0 -
When I bed rem type rifles I only allow the rear face of the recoil lug to contact the bedding , the bottom sides and front will have clearance. 0 -
the lug should only be supported at the rear, all other sides need to be free.
I would think your consistency will improve with a bedding job.0 -
Thanks for the input everybody! 0
