can I get shotshell capsules that are FMJ proflied
I got a letter from The Sportsmanguide that my back order of Strike3 ammo was going to be delayed again. I first ordered it in September of 05. Now they say it is not going to come till June of 06.
I had ordered the 9mm. I guess its time to home roll some myself. Does anyone know where I can find some plastic shot shell capsules that are rounded and give a FMJ / ball profile so they will cycle in a semi auto?

Try SPEER they make them although I don't know if they sell just the capsules. I know that they sell the .38/357 flat nose ones seperately. 0 -
I strongly suggest that you do not use handloaded ammunition for self defense. I would advise against using any type of 'specialty' ammo as well. Use whatever ammo the police carry for your personal protection. If you use anything other than what police use you are setting yourself up for possible major legal action if you are ever called upon to use it. An attorney can say that you loaded the ammunition to intentionally be more lethal. Even if you use a light load how can you prove it once it's fired? You shoot people ONLY to stop them from harming you, if they are killed that was NOT your intention. I know someone who had this exact problem. He was my concealed carry instructor. 0 -
To the best of my knowledge, Speer does not, and has not, offered a 9mm FMJ-profiled shot capsule to the reloading public. You can make your own "Strike 3" type ammo in 38/357 mag by loading 3 pcs of #1 buckshot in an empty 38 cal. capsule. I would love to find some 9mm capsules to experiment with. I have pulled a capsule from a loaded CCI 9mm shot cartrtidge and there is not too much room in there for any sort of buckshot. In my opinion, you would be much better off using a premium 9mm load for defense. Good luck in your search. 0
