What are they called?
What is the name for the revolver only reloads that have no lead past the brass? I have shot many of these and don't know anybody that still loads them locally. They are great for just practice rounds and are usually loaded pretty light. It is a flat nosed bullet that sits flush with the end of the brass. Some people call them dum-dums, I just always called them cheap reloads. I always shot 38spl loads like this and would like to find a source for them again since they were around $4-5 a box from people that reloaded for a hobby. Anybody know of a source, I am in the Baton Rouge,LA area or could possibly have them shipped if cost was right. I miss my cheap 38 plnking, $10+ a box gets steep.

Hello they are called flush loaded Wad Cutter in 38 special they came about with the intro of the S&W model 52 which was a semi auto Target Pistol they were loaded this way because a 38 special with the bullet as normally seen is too long and will not fit in the magazine of the model 52. They also have a loading in 32S&W long of the same type for the same reson to fit many target pistols made in EUROPE 0 -
These are available in 2 styles, solid and hollow base. The solids can pretty much be loaded with either end forward though design usually suggests a right and wrong way. Some load the hollow base "back end to" which gives a rather dramatic hollow point though the soft lead limits velocities somewhat. 0 -
