Of note, the 168 BTHP, were one inch high at 100 yards. The 150 RN's, well, about 14" high at 100 yards.

5 shot group, standard sights, 100 yards. 168 gr, Hornady HPBT, and Hodgdon H4895 powder. Working up a load, so the charge weight varied 0.2 grains per round 43.8 to 44.6.

Next pic, exact same load as above, 2nd group of five, #11 to 15 shots out of the barrel.

Next pic, middle five of same load. 42.8 to 43.6 grains of H4895.

Last group, IMR4350, Hornady round nose 150 grain. Yes, I definitely pulled one shot! 51.0 to 51.8 (started at 48.0). Unfortunately, the first three groups 1-5, 6-10, & 11-15 were not on the paper, this combination shoots 12" high from point of aim. ARGH!

Thanks for the range report dcloco, iron sight K-31 I assume? The 150 and 168 really group far apart, can't remember seeing anything in .308 that far apart befor.

    Iron sights yes.

Two different flavors of powder, in varying amounts while working up a load.

    Dcloco,

You have to admit that those are one 'naturally accurate' rifle! Nice shooting by the way!

It floors me what I paid for one that shoots that well... with open sights even. I laugh every time I do that well. Good luck with the competition this year. This looks like it will be a good one for you.

I have one or two more loads to work up...then adjust the front site if needed...and go from there.

These will hang with either of my 6.5x55 Swedes.

IMHO, the Swiss K31's have THE BEST MILITARY trigger out there. Two stage, but wow....very nice, smooth, and relatively light.
