    Idaho,

I shoot a 7mm ultra, and took a very nice Bull with it this year. I feel the 140grn is a little light for Elk. I have found my gun likes the 160 and 162 so far I havnt tried anything heavier yet. The remington factory 140 are pretty fast but I have a hard time bringing in the group. With that said I loaded 162grn Hornady BTSP interlock bullets with 92grns of Retumbo powder. I have tried 89,90,91,92,93,94,and max of 95 and for me the 92 was the best group. This 92grn round was very accurate,,and the bull I shot only took 10 steps and dropped. I must add all of the test rounds I tried shot better then the factory ones of 140.

    Good Luck

    Hope that helps
