Reloading .30 Luger
[ I have a problem: in my country, Peru South America
gun control has started, and now, we are limited to low powered pistol calibers, like .380 ACP for pistols and .38 SPL for revolvers, they will allow .30 Luger and all Hollow point ammo is
VERBOTEN all to protect the poor muggers, who of course , can use ANYTHING, as usual prohibition is only for the law abiding.
Muggins are rampant.
Question: I plan to convert my now illegal 9 mm Luger to .30 Luger but, all .30 Luger ammo I could find in the USA as well as loading data I could find is with the Luger 1900 pistol in mind ( very weak) I will be using a Browning High power, and would like to get speeds about 1600 Fps with the new Hornady XTP 100 grain .308 bullet.

1600 fps is in 30 tokarev/mauser range, not 30 mauser. 30 luger holds 20% less powder than the 30 tok/mauser. The hottest load I have for 30 mauser is 6.9 grains of AA#7 at 1300 fps with a 100 grain jacketed bullet. According to the data pressure is about the same as a 9mm luger at about 30,000CUP.
