Favorite load for 12" Contender .44 mag?

I picked up a 44 mag barrel for my Contender last week, so I was wondering if anyone had a favorite load to try for it? It's a 12" barrel with a muzzle brake. I need something that's an adequate hunting load for a 50 yard shot, and not much more. Beyond that, I'll have a rifle.

  I load 240 Speer jacket soft point with 23 gr H110 with Federal Magnum large pistol primer.

  180gr HP. with 27/28grs of 296 ww large pistol primer works well out of my encore 15"
