Pull them apart and clean with brake cleaner - check the can, you want the type that does not leave a residue.

I use Hoppe's #9. Been working for me for years and smells good to boot.

Naw- I prefer to leave grit in them so that when I push cases into them, the case will stick, requiring drilling/tapping the case head to get it out, leaving the inside surface of the die severely scored. 0
