HEY GUYS,

I RECENTLY GOT INTO RELOADING AND AM TRYING TO FIND A GOOD LOAD FOR MY 300 WIN MAG 24 INCH BAR, USING A BARNES TRIPLE SHOCK BULLET. ANY AND ALL INFORMATION WOULD BE HELPFUL. I LIVE IN MONTANA AND CAN SOMETIMES EXPERINCE LONG RANGE SHOTS FOR ELK AND MULE DEER.

  Hello nash, welcome. The load really depends on the wt. of the projectile. But here are a few loads that might give you a place to start.
  150 gr. IMR4895 low-61gr/hi-65gr
  180 gr. IMR4350 low-66gr/hi-71gr
  220 gr. hodgden H1000 low-73/hi-77gr
  The 220gr is a custom load I just came up with for a friend of mine. I don't reccomend it for more than 150yds but it will drop an elk where it stands first shot with almost 4000ft lbs of energy. Yes 4,000ft-lbs and you won't have to track it.
