458 win mag loading data
came accross a bunch of 458 bullets. Some of them are: Alpha LaFranck and some are Barns-X. 350gr & 400gr semi-sptizer.
I use IMR 3031 for my rifle loads, 30-30, 30-06, 45-70, 35 rem. Dont really want to change powders for one load. Does anyone have any data for theses 458 size bullets using 3031?
Thanks.

Here ya go....some great info on IMR's website. www.imrpowder.com

Thanks for the information dcloco. Allready tried that site.
Left IMR reloading a message. There reply: No loading data for this type and size of bullet. They did give me the site for Hodgdon powder and this did have some information for the bullets I have. So this helps.

3031 works well in the 45-70, those loads should work in the 458 too. You'd be interested in the ones listed for the Ruger No. 1. 0 -
IMR & Hogdon are owned by the same company. Interesting to say the least.
On both of their websites, they will send you free reloading manuals....just received mine today!0 -
My 458 is custom barreled, so the load is significantly different than what can be used in a factory barrel, but for most loads I find Reloader 7 works well. WW 748 and IMR 3031 are not too much different in burn rate, so you should be able to develop worthwhile loads with it. 0 -
I didnt know that IMR & Hodgdon were owned by the same company. VERY interesting.
To all that replyed, I thank you.
I will try and work up some loads throughout the next few months. Work is killing me as usuall, so it my take some time.
Thanks again,

I suspected it...then, when I requested the free reloading manuals from IMR & Hogdon online...they both came in the same envelope. No BULL!
