Just got a Savage Mod. 12FV 223. have had it to the range only once to sight in the 18 power scope. The mixed lot of ammo grouped better than the very carefully hand loaded ammo I was feeding the POS NEF Handi in 223. Have now got some various loadings to "test". Can hardly wait to get back to the range[:)]

Hey Loco tell us more about your setup, what gun, what glass, what are ya doin' for a rest? ( just bags or a fancy mechanical job? ). Just lookin' for more facts[;)]
I've been shooting sub MOA groups out of my 22/250 but want to shrink them down, I think more potent glass would do it for me but don't know?

Snellstrom...this is a cheap setup!! Under $500 for everything.

Savage 12FVS (bull barrel, synthetic stock, single shot) $329
    Leupold base & rings - $50
    BSA 6-24x44 scope - $79

With tax, shipping, etc...on all three items...it was just under $500 (rifle & rings purchased at local gunshop).

Shooting of lead shot filled bags at the local range.

So far, I have 3 different powders and two flavors of bullets that will shoot out of this rifle with these results. Accurate 2230C, IMR3031, & Varget. The Varget showed beginning signs of pressure - started to flatten the primers...and this was 1.0 grain under max.....so we shall see.
