45lc load info??
I have a bunch (1000) of Rainer Ballistic corp. 45 caliber long colt 250gr., total copper jacketed flat points that i want to reload for my Ruger Vaquero with a 7 -1/2" barrel ,, just looking for a plinking or cowboy type load ,, would preferr using a clean burning powder but haven't reloaded for the 45lc for a long time, so I'm not up on any current or new powders [:(]

Give 296, H4227, or AA#9 a try, and see what you can do with them.
Of the three I prefer H4227 for a lower velocity load that burns clean enough as a rule.

I would recommend 6.2 gr of Titegroup. I would not use the slower burning powders that mrbruce recomended. I load for a velocity under 800 fps. I use the slow powders for near magnum loads. Titegroup is designed to work better where there is a good bit of air space in the case. 0 -
One of my favorite loads for CAS in my Ruger Vaqueros in 7 1/2" barrels is using Vihtavuori N320. This is one of the cleanest powders I have ever used. Using 6.5 grains should give you around 900 fps. with those 250 grains bullets. Very accurate load, pleasant to shoot. 0 -

thanks everyone for the info , i did pick up a pound of titegroup ,, will give that a try first and them work on some of the others 0
