What kind of rifle are you loading for? I use IMR 4895 for my M1 and IMR 4831 for my Remington 700. Pearyw

IMR4350 would be what I reached for first. The love affair of the 165gr-168gr and imr4350 in the 06 are legendary from what I hear[:)]

why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

    I'm with JustC when I load for my 30/06 I use IMR-4350. I don't shoot 165's or 168's in my '06 I only shoot 180's and 190's, for 180 grain I shoot 56 grains of 4350 and for the 190's I use 54 grains.

Of your selection I wuld try 4895 first. I load for a 30-06 International Match barrel in which I use the SRA 168 HPBTM with various FA & LC Match cases, and generally Fed 210 primers, occasionally Win 120s. The powder I prefer is IMR 4320, which is somewhat in the meddle between your 4895 and 4350. I'd think the slower ones would be slower than needed, leading to a dirty barrel.

[8D]Yo bpost1958, Lymans 48th edition lists IMR4895-43 to 48.5 grains as the most accurate for their test of the 168 gr HPBT Sierra and IMR 4064 47 to 52 grains for the 165 Ballistic tip.I'll be trying the Imr4895 soon on the 168 HPBT.[:p][:p][:)][:D] JIMBO

    bpost,

I just had a very good run of luck with IMR4350 and the 165's. I didn't do so well with the 168's...go figure. However, in the past I've done well with 57.5 gr. of 4831 behind a 168. Depending on your rifle twist I really had a good run with the 190's using 56 gr. of IMR4831. I had a 1-10" twist before I decided other rifles had more priority. -Good luck

We have the second amendment so that all the rest are secure....UNK>
