Could someone explain "bedding" to me??
and no, please dont try to be funny by talking about beds and sheets and blankets..
okay, anyway, I read that bedding is to strengthen a stock and stop it from warping.. if this is true, is this just to prevent the warped stock from touching the barrel?

Bedding is simply the mating of the receiver to the stock, to reduce/eliminate any movement/clearance between the two.
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.0 -

as tailgunner stated, the mateing of the two surfaces will provide a more uniform harmonic and therefore should help to increase accuracy. Now,..if the barrel is a whippy pencil tube that needs a contact point, the bedding may not show much improvement. Once the pressure point is applied to the barrel however, that rifle will no doubt shoot better than it did prior to the work being done.

It is good to find out that with 5000 posts the guy still wants to learn and is not a self proclaimed expert. I know a lot but that pales to some of the knowledge on this board. Good question even if the wrong forum. THis is the paint ball forum and bedding means when your mother changes your sheets on Monday.[:D]
