I hear a lot of guys are shooting RL-22 with 190s and 200 Sierra Match Kings with great results. I am sure JustC will be by in a bit to give more imput. He is one of the resident long range experts.

RL22 and the 180's are kinda like the 30-06 and the 165gr and 4350,..it's just a given that you'll find a bad azz load. As far as slower powders,..I'd look at N165 as well as the GREAT H1000[8D]. Also, imr7828 and MRP2. If you want to get too radical,..then more neck tension and the heavy pills will be necessary. For a 300win mag and some ground underneath the pills,..I'd go to the 200gr at least and then up to the 210gr-220gr class. The powders I listed excepting the MRP2 are faster, so back up a bit. We got to 74gr of RL22 under a 178gr a-max with NO pressure and sub 1/2moa groups from a sendero. I think she'll take some more powder and tighten up a bit.

Although a few rounds of barrel life may be sacrificed with slower powders,..I'll still try to get the slowest powder I can to push the best MV I can before it burns dirty or loses speed.

We have also had some superb luck with the 165gr NBT and RL19 so maybe in the 180gr class you may try some of that.

why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....
