The problem is that I need some help in crimping the brass with out
hurting it. Using chandler bullets and RCBS die set.

  What do you mean by crimping brass? You mean applying a crimp on a loaded round?

  Get your self a Lee factory crimp die. They run under $10, and will allow you to put as much or as little crimp as you want, at any reasonable seating depth.
