"Cast Parts" as in Olympic Arms "Plinker"

Are there any disadvantages to "cast" parts, like the Olympic Arms "Plinker" has a cast upper and lower receiver. Any problems with these?

  The Oly cast lowers function well.They are just not as attractive as the forged or MaxxHard lowers.I have some plastic lowers and two I have made out of wood-One Walnut and one is red oak.The one I make this winter is bois d'arcThe lower is not stressed.cpermd
