    Yes, a thick recoil pad sounds like the most practical solution. Expect to pay $35-$50 for the work, plus the price of the pad, for a professional job. If appearance is not that important you have the option of purchasing a pad and installing it yourself.

    I've had a few of these modified stubby guns....picked up used replacement stocks at the gun shows for $15-$25....

    A used stock per rembrandt is the best permanent way out. In a pinch? Maybe try a slip-on recoil pad/boot combo. Look like hell but they are functional.
