I think a little more information is required before your question is addressed properly. Does the .223 shoot low too? How far away from your target are you to group 18" low with the 12-guage? Are you the original owner and if so, has it ever been dropped, kicked, tossed, beat over some guys head? Seriously, I think it's interesting that the 12-guage is low but the .223 is right on, if that's the situation.

223 sighted 1"high at 50yards 12ga 18" low center of patten #4 buck at 50 yards. no damage new gun. should be able to make shot closer together.

I`ve got a couple of those,in different combos. This is not unusual to me..you see, this is a short barrel, your choke is probably not full, and 50 yards is a pretty far distance for a shotgun,it is these several things combined.Plus your loads,..are they lightor heavy,..just something else to figure in.Leave it sighted in the way it is,but try it in shotgun mode at ,say 35 to 40 yards, and see what happens..218

had one with the same problem. if you loosen the front barrel band up, and then tighten it, this will most likley cure your problem. ive seen this problem several times with several calibers of this type of weapon, even right out of the box from the factory. try it, you might be lucky. im looking for a .22 over 20ga or a .222 over 20 or 12 ga if anyone knows of anyone with onbe of these for sale. i have a plush savage 24v deluxe in .22wmr/20ga for eather sale or part trade on the other.

    I just realized something:

Any scoped gun, sighted for 100 yards, will shoot low at 50 yards.

The guns I decide to scope.......I just don`t know sometimes.I don`t really think it makes scense to scope a 24 Savage....

But if we must do so,scope the rifle for a shorter distance, like 50 yards, and the shotgun should fall in line much better.

I have the same problem with a .22 LR over 20 ga. The .22 is very accurate but the 20 ga. is 6" left and 18" low at 25 yds. Never been abused. Can't hit clay birds on the fly or ones rolled along the ground for practice. The cheap rear sight has worked its way out of the dovetail. Needless to say, it is useless for what I bought it for, rabbits and squirrels. Will either take it to a gunsmith and have it regulated or send it back to the factory.

On the other hand, I have an older .22 over .410 that is excellent.

Please let me know if you find a solution. Thanks.
