Cartridge grade Blackpowder?
I recently picked up a can of Goex Cartridge BP to start loading for my cartridge guns. On the side is says "superfine blackpowder". Huh? Superfine? The granulation appears to be about halfway between Fg and FFg. In my mind, superfine is FFFFg or smaller. Also, is there any advantage to using cartridge powder over Fg for rifles?

Dupont labelled all their small arms black powder as superfine but also stamped the granulation Fg,FFg,FFFg or FFFFg on the cans.I preferred FFFg for percussion and 38/40 & 44/40 pistols because it burned cleaner and in cartridges was easier to get the full weight in.Note that folded head brass has the capacity to take the original charges while more current solid head brass has reduced case capacity.Remington supplied folded head brass into the 1960s. 0
