When you say "represented", what do you mean? What features about the gun make you think it's a Series 70 Gold Cup NM? It sounds like from the two features you described, you're looking at a Service Model Ace. BTW, the SM prefix also includes SM Aces produced in the late '70s/early '80s.

Since you mention Gold Cup, I assume the pistol is at least a centerfire, most likely a .45ACP. If it is a .22LR, it is just a post-1978 Service Model Ace. If it is a .45 that is actually marked "Gold Cup" on the slide, someone has converted a post-1978 Ace to centerfire by installing a Gold Cup slide and barrel, as well as an ejector. A bastard pistol that is neither GC or SM should be substantially cheaper than either.

I bought the pistol as a Series 70 Gold Cup, upon arrivial at my FFL he contacted me with a concearn about the serial number, and when I looked the pistol over I noticed the narrow trigger - anyway to make a long story short the seller (who has a steller rating) is taking back the gun and paying the shipping - He says he bought the gun as a Gold Cup and didn't know about any descrepencys and I think he has been honest and hope this will be resolved soon. Says alot about the quality of folks that use this site! My thanks to all!Myjack
