Sako Rifles - Pre-Garcia????
I've seen several of these Sako rifles that I've found to be just beautiful, despite the price. So what does pre-Garcia mean? Are these worth more than post-Garcia? When was Garcia Pre and/or Post? Help!!! Thanks.....

I'd be interested in this info also. Came across a Sako, scoped (nothing fancy), used, 30-06, great shape. It was beautiful but I have no idea if Pre Garcia or what that even means. Have noticed several listed for sale in Gun List mentioning pre Garcia etc. Que? 0 -

Pre-Garcia refers to the time before the rifles were imported by the Garcia Corporation - 1972. Many collectors feel the Garcia import guns were not to the same standard of fit and finish as the earlier stuff.Quite frankly, I've never seen a poorly fit or finished commercial Sako rifle!

I agree with antiqueDr. I have been away from the firearms arena of too long, but I can say that I, also, never saw a Sako with anything less than absolute quality of product and workmanship. As to value of pre-garcia guns, I could only guess. I would imagine any Sako in good condition would hold its value. I doubt this is a situation like the pre-64 winchester model 70's. 0
