+P+ ammo
I just bought a Ruger 9mm carbine and it in the book that it's ok to shot +9+ ammo. I want a high capacity 9mm that will do the same. Any suggestions

Hey folks. Anybody know if it is safe to shoot +P+ 9mm loads in a Browning BDM? Thanks 0 -
how recent is it's manufacture? 0 -
As I recall, the BDM is steel framed so I'm sure you can shoot +P+ 9mm in it; of course, when shooting any higher-than-industry-standard pressure round, accelerated wear will occur and you should check the pistol regularly if you shoot it often. 0 -
I would never risk the higher psi. in +p ammo..In a heavy frame revolver it's o.k., but a semi-auto will wear quickly. 0 -
Modern 9mm +p+ isn't any hotter than a lot of the WWII military-issue 9mm. That isn't to say that it won't be rougher on your gun than standard pressure ammo, but if the old P-38s and Lugers could handle the 1300+ fps German military round I don't think +p+ would be dangerous in a quality modern steel gun. Lots of LE agencies use it and their guns don't blow up. You could have a problem getting major brand +p+ since they're only supposed to sell it to law enforcement. I have heard that Corbon +p is equal to most other brand's +p+ and they sell it to anybody. 0 -
Thanks guys. I wouldn't shoot this stuff regularly, just use it as a carry round. I just don't want any KB's. Range rounds for me are all standard pressure.BTW, the Browning BDM was discontinued in 1994, after only being introduced in 1991, so I'm told. Supposedly not a good seller at the time and cost too much for Browning to produce. It's one fine shooting pistol. 0
