Hollow points for PA-63
Recently purchased a box of 9mm Makarov, Federal Classic Hi-Shock Jacketed Hollow Point for my Hungarian PA-63. The tip of the bullet is too square and drags along the inside of the clip getting stuck half way in.Local gun store is willing to take them back,(lucky me), anyone know what brand of ammo will work other than Wolf?I'm glad I didn't buy this box at Wal-Mart.[This message has been edited by just-shoot (edited 12-17-2001).][This message has been edited by just-shoot (edited 12-18-2001).]

I'm answering myself to get this topic back on page 1. Someone out there must run hollow points through their PA63. When I go back to the gun store, sure would like to know what I'm talking about when I tell them what ammo to order. Help Please....[This message has been edited by just-shoot (edited 12-18-2001).] 0 -

Probably wont help but I have run reloads using the Sierra hollow point bullet. Works fine even using trimmed luger brass! 0 -
midway usa has Russian made HP ammo cheaper than you can reload it $109/1000rds 0 -
Thanks everyone for your input. Wanted something other than Wolf since this gun is going to be for protection. I'm replacing my $400 dollar gun on the night stand with this $89 dollar gun just incase of a breakin when I'm not home. I've have plink a couple of boxes of wolf through it with no jams but wanted a better guality of ammo for protection. Gun store refunded my cash, said they knew of one brand that would work (can't recall the name) but at $18 bucks for eight I had to pass. Just need to shop around when I find some time. Thanks again. 0 -
I don't have ay experience with the P-63, but I have have shot quite a bit of Hornady HP in a Makarov without any failures. That was several years ago, I don't know if it's still available. 0 -
First thing you need to do is polish the feed ramp with a dremel. Then run at least to boxes of ball ammo through it to smooth it up and break it in good. Thats what I did to mine. Cor-bons and Hornadys worked great in mine. No malfunctions.
