Or just be polite (SaxonPig usually is...) & suggest the questioner get acquainted with the "Search" option, available above.YES, this question has been asked before. I was just thinkin' of doin' a search myself, on THAT VERY TOPIC when I logged in tonight. 0 -
Pig was probably joking due to the variance in opinions the last time this question was asked. I doubt he was bein' a jerk. you might want to look on the search because alot of breaking in a barrel has to do with gun and ammo.

For Kimberkid or anyone else: What is it about this gun cleaning procedure that I'm missing? In a previous post (see below), you referred to an expert's recommendation that one should not pass a brush, or even a patch, through the crown. QUESTION: When using a cleaning rod to clean a rife that has an automatic, or semi automatic action, how do you clean the bore without first passing the brush and/or patch through the crown? Your post, referred to above, is: (http://forums.gunbroker.com/images/Forum3/HTML/011218.html). Thanks. 0 -
I was mowing brush along my fencerows with a little Kubota garden tractor during deer season a few years ago. A little yearling buck stood from his bed, so I killed him with my revolver. 0 -
Did you break in the barrel first?

seamus, Use a rod guide on your muzzle to protect the crown and dont worry about what you've read on the subject. Everyone has their own ideas on cleaning. Mine is the only correct one, cause if not, my guns should'nt be able to hit a thing. Long live Butch's Bore Shine!!!
