OKNow is this Sigma a newer VE model or one of the older ones. The older ones that you see at a good deal as police trade ins can be quite troublesome as they seem to have had some basic design flaws that were taken care of in the VE series. If it is new put about 500 rnds through it before you judge it in the feeding area. As far as the trigger I dont think there is anything you can do to safely reduce the trigger pull but there very well may be a transfer bar available on the aftermarket as for the glocks as it is the same basic design. Good Luck

I had just the opposite as c3006. My SW40C that was a duty gun shoots anything, anytime, including reloads. I bought a new Sigma SW40P and had problems from the start. I brought it to S&W and they knew about the problem already. They said they had new barrels ordered with a longer feeding ramp and they had to replace the springs in the mag. I think the ejector rod was also too long for the newer models. Anyway they fixed it and it now works perfect. I would call S&W and see if you are in need of the newer barrel. S&W 1-800-331-0852

I read a post here a few months back about people having problems with the decocking device on some Sigmas causing a round to fire instead of decocking, though I can't see a decocker on the Sigma anywhere, so I'm not sure if there's a manual button safety which acts as a decocker, or the story was inaccurate.I brought a S&W 4013TSW a few months ago, and have put about 200 rounds through it with no troubles, but the 4013 is the same basic design they've been using for semi-autos for many years, just renamed and with a new laser brandname burned on. The Sigmas are a relatively new design, with a striker instead of hammer, so I steered away from them, favoring a design which may not be as good as a Sig or Beretta, but has had years of minor tweaks to fix problems.People dis S&W semi-autos, but I think it's mostly because of their agreement to make safer guns with the govt, and because they're really more known for their revolvers- which I own two of, and couldn't be happier with.[This message has been edited by ED P (edited 12-16-2001).]

This is not related to the .40 but I bought a .380 sigma series about a year ago...whenever S&W was running the $50.00 rebate deal. You could not hit the broad side of a barn with that thing. Sold it three months after I bought. I would have had more luck with a throwing knife as a back up instead of that piece of plastic they called a gun. That's what I get for buying a S&W after I swore to boycott LOL!
