Colt AR15 Preban or not?

I bought a Colt AR and want to know the approximate value and would like to know how to tell if it is a Preban or not.Thanks

I guess it would help if I posted a little info on it......AR-15 A2 HBAR SPORTER 6 digit serial number beginning with 221.Says C MP on barrel 1/7 HBAR

Your right, it's SP. What's that mean?

SP stands for "sporter". The cutoff would be at #SP360200, so yes yours is definitely a pre-ban, probably made in between 1986-1988.

The lower is worth $800-900cpermd

The complete gun is worth $1100-1500 depending on condition. If it has the box and papers, finish wear, any scratches, etc.

It is only 95% because I don't have the box, I removed the bolt and the best I can tell it has had about a 20 round box of ammo shot through it--Super nice. Thanks for the information.
