Mitchell American Eagle Luger
Need general info on this gun. I found one. It looks like its built like a tank. It operates smoothly, accurate, and has a good trigger pull. The owner wants $500 with two mags. Is the Stoeger Luger the same? The only other Mitchell I have shot is the one that looks like the High Standard Victor 22lr which jammed ALOT! Any info on the Mitchell Luger would be apprecited. I found only one on the net for $695.

It looks like a well made Luger and since you seem to like it, it shoots well and as pistols go these days not that expensive, I'd say go for it.Lugers sometimes jam on feeding because modern loads are often too light to drive the breechbolt fully to the rear. These pistol mainsprings were regulated for the full power 124 grain military load. The Mitchell spring is probably an exact copy as the rest of the gun is. Wolff Springs makes mainsprings and while it's a pain to change them you might improve feeding reliability with a lighter spring. 0
