How do they stack up quality wise?it seems to be in good shape rifleing is dark and not sharp, headspace was good. it has been sportered. Is the bolt supposed to be bent or was it done afterwards? He wants $120 does that seem like a good deal? 0 -
If you want or need a good utility rifle, in my opinion, it's a pretty good deal. I have an 8X57 German M98 Mauser that was a "bring-back" war trophy. The rifling looks pretty bad, but the gun will hold 1" groups at 100 yards using my reloads. Unfortunately my dad sporterized it back in the 50's when the rifle was of little value. I've lost track how many deer he killed with it though. If you get the Spanish rifle, did you know you can easily make 8mm Mauser (8X57) brass from 30-06 brass? I used to do that because 8X57 ammo was a little hard to find.
