Tear down of AMT Backup 380 DAO?

I tried following the manual on this using my Glock armor's tool. I could only budge the pin a small amount and that was with using a hammer. ??? Any suggestions from those who have torn one down before? The manual says to use a hammer to drive the firing block back onto the frame. Can that be avoided? Thanks for any help.

  I have the single action. The pin that holds the block to the slide is not really a pin, but a piece of rolled metal, hollow in the middle. If the punch is smaller than the hole it will slide inside this pin and spread it. It also will only come out in one direction. I believe from left to right, but it's been a while since I've used it. Try a punch the same size and maybe change direction.
